Jain’s company works with sensitive data. In order to assure the secrecy of that data they have a rule to use only their private servers to compute/modify that data.
In many organizations, it is common practice to allow employees to work with sensitive data on their individual laptops or storage devices. This can be risky, because laptops are frequently stolen and USB flash drives are frequently lost. By forcing users to only work with sensitive data on the company network, this reduces the risk that a stolen laptop or other device will lead to a leak of sensitive company data.
